Inspiring healthier eating one dish at a time

Granola Factory Granola

I have to give a shout out to the wonderful folks at Granola Factory for making my very favorite granola – add this to the list of foods you’ll always find in my kitchen.  I found this small, artisan brand about a year ago, and I love it so much, that have to share it with you.

I don’t usually get so excited about granola – It’s not unusual to see “all natural” or “”organic” on the label.  And to me it usually all tastes pretty much the same, with slight flavor variations.  But this one caught my eye because of one particular flavor – and one ingredient.

I am absolutely IN LOVE with their Cherry Almond flavor.  I first noticed it because I it’s made with quinoa, in addition to the traditional oats (nutritionists adore quinoa for it’s high protein content, and lower glycemic index).  I’ve also always loved the cherry-almond flavor combo, but have never seen it in a granola, so I knew this was made for me.  What has me hooked, is the hint of saltiness combined with the sweet/tart cherries.  I can’t get enough!  I mix it with fruit and Greek yogurt for a delicious high protein after workout snack.

The Granola Factory  is based in Bethlehem PA, and their website states that they make all of their granola in their bakery, by hand and in small batches.  The good news – it definitely tastes like it.  The bad news is that you will only find it at Wegmans on the east coast, select Whole Foods markets, and some a few other stores in Pennsylvania.    However, they do sell their granola online and offer free shipping if you order 6 packages or more.  Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Eat well!

  1. I love granola with quinoa in it! I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I’m definitely going to have to check it out. 🙂
