In my job as an outpatient dietitian, I see lots of people with chronic diseases who are also very overweight. Most have diabetes, high cholesterol or blood pressure, and I’m not gonna lie – most are overweight because they don’t exercise and they don’t eat very well. But there are many others that I see, who are overweight despite the fact that they eat very well most of the time and they exercise. The difference is that the healthier eaters and exercisers usually don’t have the chronic diseases.
