Here’s my definition of “breakfast muffin”~ noun A sweet, floury domed mini-cake often studded with a few small morsels of fruit or nuts in an effort to pass itself off as a quick and somewhat healthy option for breakfast. Morning Glory Overnight Oats

I am what you would call, a creature of habit. If you come to my house on any day of the week, you’ll find me eating pretty much the same breakfast, at pretty much the same time. I love my coffee with lots of milk first thing, then I work for a little bit until I get hungry, and then it’s always oats + dairy. I never get bored because I’m constantly trying new fruits and flavors to mix in. I make hot oatmeal in the winter, but whenever it’s warm – or if I just know I’m going to be too busy to make it in the morning, I love overnight oats. Continue Reading..

Whole Grains Recipe Roundup

The USDA released new data this month, which shows that we’re eating more whole grain foods – 23.4% more between 2008 and 2010, which is great news.  Looks like women ages 30-39 are leading the pack in terms of overall consumption, and greatest increase in whole grains (you go girls!).  Their data also showed, however, that the amount of refined grains Americans are still eating hasn’t really changed, so there is still more work to do to get our diets in better shape and make half our grains whole.
