Welcome! I'm so glad you're here!

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by!  I'm Anne Danahy. I'm a registered dietitian nutritionist specializing in healthy aging, menopause, and chronic disease prevention and management. I also get strangely excited about teaching people how to take the science of nutrition and get it onto their plates. I love helping people lower their cholesterol, improve their blood sugar, sleep better, and feel better using the power of food.

I live by the motto “You Are What You Eat” (with a little bit of "Everything in Moderation” sprinkled in). As a registered dietitian nutritionist, I love to inspire individuals to eat more healthfully, even if it’s one meal or one recipe at a time. I believe the Mediterranean diet and other plant-forward eating patterns have superpowers (ask me about the research!). Most of my recipes and healthy eating tips are Mediterranean diet-inspired.

I’m fascinated by the relationship between health and food, and love to share what I learn about the ever-evolving research in my field. I never get tired of talking or writing about food. I have been and always will be a cookbook collector, food blog-reader, recipe-clipper, and cooking class-taker. One of my favorite things about working as a nutritionist is sharing the recipes, cooking, and healthy eating tips I use in my own kitchen with my clients and readers.SaveSave

I live...

In beautiful, sunny Scottsdale, AZ where I'm grateful to enjoy 330 days of sunshine along with some VERY hot summers, but I'll take that over shoveling snow any day.

I work...

as a juggler, mostly. In addition to writing articles and creating and photographing my own recipes for this website, I work as a health and nutrition content writer; I also provide recipe development, writing, and marketing services to food brands and restaurants; AND I work with the media to educate and inspire consumers about how to make healthy eating easier. I started my own business several years ago, and although I'm in constant motion, I truly love what I do. Read more about my services here.

I love...

when I find the latest issue of Food & Wine in the mailbox (yes, I still love to flip real pages); scoring a bargain on a great pair of shoes; working in my gardens; being able to exercise outside in warm weather (I used to live in New England where it hardly ever gets warm enough; and planning vacations (sometimes more than taking them).  I also have a fetish for paint and home improvement stores, which leads to endless redecorating projects around my house.

I eat...

almost anything, but my favorite foods are wild mushroom risotto, any kind of soup, and dark chocolate.
