Avoid a potentially dangerous interaction between your food and your medication with these tips.
If you’re one who always pitches the instruction sheet that comes with your medications, take note! Many medications can interact with certain foods. Some foods, can cause certain meds to build up to higher than desirable levels in your body, and others can make medications less effective. Other foods may cause unpleasant, or even dangerous side effects when combined with certain foods. This list, from Blink Health, gives a great overview of some of the most common interactions. Whenever you start on a new medication, make sure you discuss any potential interactions, and how to take the medication (with or without food) with your doctor or pharmacist.
